Narrow Aisle Forklift
Designed to both lift and lower loaded pallets from storage areas which are high is a narrow aisle forklift. This particular type is suitable for work environments with narrow spaces between aisles, like for example warehouses or retail environments. The forklift has small, solid rubber tires which make maneuvering very simple.
Generally, the operator of this particular kind of forklift stands up within a small cockpit. The stand-up design enables the narrow aisle forklift to be as narrow ans short as possible. A stand-up cockpit forklift usually has three tires: two in the front, and one in the rear. This design enables for easy and fast maneuvering. There are several models of these forklifts that are available with a sit-down cockpit. The lift attachment is capable of pivoting to the sides, allowing the lift to be operated without the operator having to move the entire equipment. The sit-down model generally has four wheels.
Many narrow aisle forklifts are powered with an electric engine. Machines that are electrically powered are not noisy and do not make exhaust fumes, making them the preferred alternative for closed places like retail spaces. Several lifts come with a gas engine or a diesel engine. Nevertheless, the diesel model is not recommended for indoor application as it could produce exhaust and be quite noisy.
